DELICIOUS PECAN PRALINE RECIPE

What you'll need:

INGREDIENTS

  • 10 oz of pecans (roasted to a dark brown!)
  • 1/3 cup of water
  • 2 cups of granulated sugar

INSTRUCTIONS

  • Bake pecans at 350 degrees for 15-17 minutes
  • You'll know they're done when they are a beautiful mahogany brown and have a little bit of snap to them when you bite.
  • Add the sugar and water to a pot and put on medium-high heat.
  • When it comes to a boil, lower the temperature. You're looking for a beautiful golden brown sugar, that has strings when you lift it out of the pot with a fork. It can take some time to cook, so be patient! Cooking sugar is tricky and if you seen crystals start to form, just add small amounts of water.
  • Once the sugar is a golden brown and has "strings" from a fork - you'll know it's ready.
  • On a greased pan (use spray canola oil) spread the toasted pecans and then gently pour over your sugar mixture.
  • It will need at least 1-hour to cool and harden, once you can lift it up in once piece - break it off into chunks and then add to a food processor!
  • For cakes, cookies, buttercream and other soft mediums - you're looking for a soft crumble. But you can also enjoy this treat by itself without processing it!
