COLOR YOUR CHOCOLATE & POUR IN THE MOLD
First, check out this tutorial with Ed on Choc Elites and WHY you should give them a try!
Choc Elite Full Tutorial (click here)
For this demonstration, we first colored a very small amount of melted white chocolate (Callebaut) with our Purple Choc Elite! Then we took our Wide Paint Brush (click here) and painted one stroke in the middle of our Black Silicone Half-Sphere Mold! After this, we colored a larger bowl of Callebaut with Bubblegum Choc Elite and filled the mold to the very top! Allow it to set up for at least 20 minutes and then flip it over to get all of that chocolate to pour out.
While you are waiting for this step to finish, color another small amount of white chocolate with Ruby Red and fill it inside of our Heart and Lips Mold to create a very vibrant heart as decorating for this cocoa bomb! You will adhere it to the fully set up chocolate shell when you de-mold it. Again, wait at least 30 minutes for this chocolate to set up or stick it in the fridge to make it go faster (that's what we did)!
DEMOLD THE COCOA BOMB
Let the chocolate fully set up before de-molding, it should be dry to the touch in all areas! Callebaut experts recommend at least 24-hours to allow a chocolate piece to fully set up. You can stick your cocoa bomb mold in the fridge to speed this process along.
On most compound chocolates (Almond Bark, Ghirardelli, Candy Melts, Etc) We recommend waiting at least an hour before attempting to de-mold.
Once completely dry, peel back the silicone away from your shell. Go slow, so the chocolate does not crack and don't get discouraged if it does! It takes a couple of tries to get used to it - especially if this is your first time making hot cocoa bombs!
ADD THE GOODIES!
Fill the first hot cocoa bomb shell with all of your goodies! Cocoa powder and mini marshmallows!
PUT THE TWO PIECES TOGETHER
Take your second hot cocoa bomb shell and using a warm skillet or hot plate, quickly place down (edge first) to warm the edge of your cocoa bomb and then gently align / attach to the first shell! You need one shell to have warm edges, so you can put together the two sides and make your cocoa bomb!
ADD EDIBLE GLITTER DUST!
Once you place the Ruby Red Heart on the Cocoa Bomb, just lightly sprinkle our 100% Edible Glitter - Rainbow DiamonDust - and see the most gorgeous, holographic, FDA Compliant glitter for this confection!
